the revolutionary new app for Apple mobile devices from Leslye Solomon
Call for Designs
After its initial launch and continued success, we would like to take KnitSpeaker to the next level by offering in-app pattern purchases. We are putting a call out to designers who would like to have their pattern as part of this program. We are looking for creative designs that might feature a more complicated stitch repeat pattern…something that a knitter may prefer to have read to them through the KnitSpeaker app. We are interested in existing, as well as new designs. These designs would not be exclusive to KnitSpeaker and the designer will retain the right to sell their designs in other venues, but this would allow the designer, in addition to other formats, to offer the pattern in a KnitSpeaker-capable version. We will be responsible for inputting the design into the KnitSpeaker app. Designers should submit a photo and design info to firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact Leslye at 410-517-1020 for information about designing for KnitSpeaker, the program details, and compensation. Our deadline for the first ten program design submissions is midnight on Thursday, September 12, 2013. There will be subsequent calls for designs, so check this space.
The new KnitSpeaker update is now available. It has exciting new features to make pattern input faster, as well as a place to copy and paste your entire pattern and photos for quick reference. We've added more abbreviations and audio recordings, including a one row buttonhole and kitchener stitch instructions. If you are already a KnitSpeaker owner, just go to the App Store on your device and click on Updates. You should see KnitSpeaker listed in whatever updates are available. Just click to install the update. The new KnitSpeaker manual in PDF form is located on the FAQ page of this site, if you would like to read it on your computer, or print it out. You can also access the user manual in the app itself under Instructions on the home page.
Did you know you can gift KnitSpeaker to a friend? It's fast, easy, and only $5.99! Here's how....

Testimonials I am knitting the "Tree of Life" Afghan and have started to use KnitSpeaker for the Tree portion of the pattern which has lots of cable twists and changes to each row. I am not one of those knitters who can memorize a pattern so I have to refer to the written pattern for each step. I knitted my first row last night using KnitSpeaker. It was incredible. I actually enjoyed the time I spent inputting the pattern into the program. It was fun to figure out which abbreviation to use. I can't wait to share the app with my knitting group. -- Linda
This app is absolutely one of my favorite app for knitting! It made my most challenging and complicated lace pattern easy to follow. Once you get the hang of it it is very easy to use and input your pattern information. This app is a must have! I love it!-- Margaret
I just wanted say that I love KnitSpeaker!! I started my very first shawl the other day and it has been a dream not having to follow a written or charted pattern. This app was so worth the money and I see myself using it a lot! Thanks for KnitSpeaker!! -- Noreen
